A great spot for relaxing with friends or loved ones. Please take a read how we enjoyed strolling around the park for my easy but special day!

Odaiba, located south of Tokyo, is a large artificial island in Tokyo Bay and was built to protect Tokyo from naval attacks during the Edo period. It is a bustling location that attracts many tourists. Odaiba Seaside Park, also known as "Odaiba Beach", is a park with an artificial sand beach and a vibrant observatory.

Let's start!

It was close to my birthday, so my friends gathered together, and I chose Odaiba as the destination. At 1 pm, we departed from Tsudanuma station to Shimbashi station, then transferred to the train heading towards Yurikamome. We got off at Odaiba-Kaihinkoen and walked to the seaside park.

None of us had lunch yet, so we went to a nearby combini store to buy some food before heading there. After the purchase, we stood there waiting for the green light to cross the street. We were amazed by so many supercars that passed by us. While carrying our bags there, we saw a lot of children playing, and behind us, there were beautiful twin buildings.

My friends wanted to go up closer to the bridge on the bay, so I followed them. After taking a few steps, we discovered a row of cherry blossom trees blooming beautifully. The cherry blossoms here bloomed earlier than in other places, where they usually bloomed in March or April. My younger sibling and I went to take some pictures with the cherry blossom trees while the other two guys helped us hold the bags.

After taking pictures, we found our way up, there was a large open space, and there were even boats sailing nearby. We got close to the popular Rainbow Bridge that everyone who came here had always talked about. The bridge connects the island to the mainland, and I heard that the bridge lit up very beautifully at night.

We went in further and discovered a park, probably the Odaiba Seaside Park, and standing from this side, we saw that the observatory on the other side was quite far from us.

I saw many people walking in the park, one group was laying down a blanket for picnic food, and another group was singing. We found a quiet place and then unpacked the food we had bought.

After we finished eating, we cleaned up and started taking pictures!

After taking pictures for a while, we saw everyone going down, so we followed them. When we went to the artificial beach, we saw a flock of mallards. We still had some food left, and when I went down there, I saw many mallards were around in the water, so I went to play with them. I used the leftover food from before and tried to feed them, but for some reason, they did not come over and instead flew away.

I don't know whether the time flew by too fast or we just arrived late, but it was already getting dark, so we had to go to the station to return home.

When I got to the station, I was overwhelmed by the Daikanransha Ferris wheel on the other side, so I got everyone to go over there. When I reached it, I had no idea there was such a large shopping mall. I saw a lot of famous brands gathered here as well. At that time, I thought it was already quite late, so I couldn't go up there to play.

We finished the trip at 7 pm and boarded the train to return home. Although the trip was a bit short and I could not visit the Odaiba Statue of Liberty here, it was enjoyable to hang out with my friends from morning until evening like this.

There were many other attractions here, and I think it would take 2 to 3 days to explore all of the attractions. If you have time, you should come and visit Odaiba to check it out!

How to get there

  • Odaiba - Kaihinkoen station on the Yurikamome Line and walk for about 5 minutes
  • Tokyo Teleport Station on the Rinkai Line and walk for about 7 minutes

Address: 1, Daiba, Minato-ku, Tokyo.
