The Future port city (Minato Mirai) belongs to the Kanto region, Yokohama city of Kanagawa prefecture ((県: Kanagawa-ken). Yokohama is the second-most populous city in Japan and the capital of Kanagawa prefecture. It is a commercial center and also the largest seaport in Japan. The relatively small area which is located between Tokyo and the foothills of Mount Fuji to the northwest and Pacific and Tokyo Bay to the south and east.

Minato Mirai is located in the heart of the Yokohama sightseeing area and is a great place to experience traditional destinations with nostalgic architecture lining the streets as well as skyscrapers, commercial buildings and big modern. This port area is located opposite Yokohama Port with countless streets including skyscrapers, entertainment areas, retro architecture, and undulating boats on the water nearby.

On that day, I started from the early morning to catch the JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line train from Shibuya station (This is a route that can go to Yokohama without having to change trains from Shibuya station) and it takes about 30 minutes to reach Yokohama station.

About a 5-minute walk far from Yokohama Station is the famous Nippon Maru, anchored in front of the Landmark Tower at Minato Mirai. Nippon Maru was a ship built in 1930 in Kobe. It has traveled the world 45 times. Now the Nippon Maru (丸) is a Japanese museum ship and an old training ship. It was permanently docked at the port of Yokohama, in Nippon Maru Memorial Park.

Next to the Nippon Maru, a bit more you will be able to reach the Landmark Tower (横 浜 ラ ン ド マ ー ク タ ワ ー) nearly 300 m high and it's the second tallest building (skyscraper) in Japan. Landmark Tower was opened in 1993 and is also became the fastest elevator in the world at its inauguration, but now ranks third in the world after Shanghai Tower (China) and Taipei 101 Tower (Taiwan). The building has a height of 296m with 70 floors. This is the tallest building in Japan built in the port city of Yokohama. In particular, Sky Garden on the 69th floor will help you view the whole city with 360-degree views. During the clear weather, you can be able to see Mount Fuji, the proud symbol of Japanese people. In addition, because I went near Christmas occasions (the anniversary of the birth of the Lord Jesus), the building was decorated to celebrate this beautiful occasion with lights and sparkling pine trees.

Getting out of the Landmark Tower, I boarded the Ferris Wheel (観 覧 車) Cosmo Clock 21 of Yokohama Cosmoworld Amusement Park (よ こ は ま コ ス モ ワ ー ル ド) because I wanted to see all of Yokohama. Cosmo Clock 21 which is the largest clock-shaped Ferris wheel in the world that exists as the Landmark symbol of 21 Minato Mirai areas. Its height is up to 112.5m, diameter 100m, there are 60 cabins accommodating 8 people, total capacity up to 480 people. With a ticket price of 800 yen for one person, you will have the opportunity to admire the entire port city of Yokohama with great views in about 15 minutes.

Besides, when you come to Yokohama, do not forget to visit the Cup Noodles Museum! This noodle museum was founded by Nissin Food Company, which is an interactive museum that shows the history of instant noodles. You will be surprised to learn so many interesting things. There are also workshops for you to do by hand. For example, make canned noodles at the My Cupnoodles Factory workshop. Or if you can take part in the 90-minute Workshop of My Chicken Ramen teaching how to make instant noodles from flour. Kids can learn and have fun at the Cupnoodles Park children's playground.
